INDIA, Pre-Mauryan (Ganges Valley). Kurus (Kurukshetras). Circa 500-450 BC. 1/2 Karshapana (Silver, 15 mm, 1.35 g). Ornate triskeles with pellets. Rev. Blank. Rajgor series 21, 426. Rare and nicely toned. Some areas of weakness, otherwise, about very fine.

This punch-marked type was issued in the Babyal region of Haryana. It is an early variety with a blank reverse, issued before the expanding Magadha kingdom took over this janapada.
